Quem Somos

José Miguel Ortega, PhD

Graduated in Bioscience (1981) and PhD in Biochemistry (1987), at the University of São Paulo. Currently, he is adjunct professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, leading the Biodata Laboratory. He has experience in biochemistry with emphasis on bioinformatics, acting on the following topics: chromatin structure, yeast of hybrid doissistema (liquid screening system), biochemistry of transcription factors and bioinformatics. He participated twice in the board of directors of the Association of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology and was the X-meeting organizer in 2005. Participates in the phD program in Bioinformatics at UFMG and Minas gerais Genome network. Nowadays he is also dedicated to the formation of the National Center for Intensive Bioinformatics (NCIB) in collaboration with other major regional centers.
