Diogo Meyer, PhD

Graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of São Paulo (1991), master’s degree in Biology (Genetics) from the University of São Paulo (1994) and PhD in Integrative Biology at the University of California (2002). Held postdoctoral as a NIH fellow and later as FAPESP Young Researcher (2003-2007). Currently, he is a professor at the University of São Paulo, acting on the following topics: genetics of human populations, molecular evolution. He is also area editor of the journal Human Immunology and associate editor of the journal Immunogenetics. He was co-organizer of the Brazilian edition of “Summer Institute of Statistical Genetics”, organized in partnership with the University of Washington. He has collaborative projects with researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, University of Geneva, University of Lausanne, University of Washington. In the extension area, he published works making evolutionary biology concepts accessible to the general public.
