Sandro José de Souza, PhD

Graduated in Biology at the Federal University of Paraná (1989) and Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the University of São Paulo (1993). From 1995 to 1998, was Pew Latin American Fellow at Harvard University. He was one of the pioneers of genomics and bioinformatics in Brazil. He was an associate member of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research from 1999 to 2012. Currently, he is professor of the Brain Institute of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Elected by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2009. He was Tinker Visiting Professor at the University of Chicago in 2011.
